The Whakamārama Bach Retaining Wall project involved the construction of a structural timber retaining wall to stabilise a steep slope and protect a coastal holiday home from potential erosion.

Working within a confined residential site, Crossroads Civil delivered a practical, long-term solution that met engineering and safety standards while maintaining the property’s visual appeal.

  • Earthworks & site clearance: Excavation and preparation of the slope and working area.

  • Drilling & post installation: Augering holes and concreting structural posts for stability.

  • Wall construction: Installing timber boards between posts to form the retaining wall.

  • Drainage: Installing subsoil drainage to manage groundwater and protect the structure.

  • Backfilling & compaction: Reusing fill and compacting to meet engineering specifications.

  • Driveway reinstatement: Restoring the driveway surface and integrating it with the new wall.
