The Ohope Wharf Carpark Redevelopment project involved the complete reconstruction of an existing coastal carpark at Port Ohope Wharf.
Crossroads Civil delivered full civil works, from earthworks and drainage to paving and landscaping, to create a safer, more functional, and visually appealing public space for locals and visitors alike.

Located at 340 Harbour Road, Ohope, the site required careful planning and execution to meet both Whakatāne District Council’s infrastructure standards and the environmental considerations of a waterfront setting.

  • Kerbing: Installation of concrete kerbs to define road edges and parking bays.

  • Pavement works: Preparation and construction of structural pavement layers.

  • Asphalting: Laying of asphalt surfacing for long-term durability.

  • Landscaping: Integration of soft and hard landscaping to complement the coastal environment.

Outcome

The redevelopment delivered a modern, accessible, and environmentally conscious carpark that enhances the Port Ohope Wharf precinct.
Improved drainage and surface quality now ensure reliable year-round use, while new pedestrian connections and landscaping have made the area safer, more inviting, and better integrated with surrounding public amenities.
